Were working on behalf of a global chemical company giant that boasts more than 370 manufacturing facilities and does business worldwide through six business segments: plastics, performance products, chemicals, oil and gas exploration and production, functional solutions (catalysts, coatings, and construction chemicals), and agricultural products. Its site in the Clemson, SC area is a specialty chemical catalysts manufacturing and precious metal refining facility. This particular plant has expertise in the manufacturing of precious metal catalysts and the recovery of these metals from spent catalysts. They work with customers to supply fresh catalyst, as well as refine spent ones in a full-loop service primarily from the auto catalyst market.
Looking for an opportunity with a global leader? We seek a Six Sigma Black Belt with five (5) or more years of practical experience (preferably within the chemical/specialty chemicals industry) for the role of Quality and Continuous Improvement Manager. In this role you will be responsible for embedding lean six sigma and quality culture at the site. You lead a team of scientists and engineers and be directly responsible for assessing existing operational, manufacturing and business capabilities across the site, including tracking systems, and performance results as well as manufacturing entitlement metrics and improvement systems. You will guide site leadership in identifying, prioritizing, and resourcing improvement projects. You will execute and/or lead business critical projects using lean six sigma tools. You will mentor and coach other belt candidates towards completion and certification of their projects.
Candidates must have EITHER a Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering or a Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline (i.e. science or engineering) PLUS a six Sigma Black Belt Certification. Must have five (5) or more years of practical experience (preferably within the chemical/specialty chemicals industry) driving reliability, process enhancement, and continuous improvement initiatives in a large, complex manufacturing business; plus five (5) or years of experience managing others in both technical and production environments. Candidates should have operating experience and be comfortable interfacing across the organization, from operations through to supply chain, R&D, and health & safety, to drive a meaningful transformation initiative while managing multiple constituents. Must have a demonstrated track record of implementing and managing operational excellence initiatives and business improvement processes.
